I didn’t get in the milage I would have liked this week with only 5 miles over the week while I was traveling. With #ragnardc next weekend, there could be no excuses for getting in my long run! I’m excited for my first Relay next weekend, and to continue training for my next half marathon! Woooo!
I had so much fun at the Clarendon Day 10k! I was trying for a sub-1hr 10k time, but by mile 2 the heat and humidity was getting to me and I could not sustain the pace. Since I have the Chicago Marathon in 2 weeks, I decided to play it safe, drop the pace and finish strong. I finished with a 1:05 finish time, which I will gladly take! Now it's time to rest and recover and get ready for my 3 marathons in 5 weeks: Chicago Marathon, MCM and NYC Marathon!
Conquering the Custis Trail hills this morning on our long run 💪🏼 I haven’t run this route in awhile and I forgot how great of a trail it is - several water stops, bathrooms, and lots of friendly runners 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏽♂️ #rundc#twtraining#marathontraining#longrunsaturday
Update from my Garden as of 9/21/2018! Our fall crops of mustard greens, collard greens and kale are growing well. We are growing corn for the first time and we have about 3 ears of corn that are developing. We still have our Chinese Long Bean plants and tomato plants on the side of the deck still producing. My pepper plants are slowing their production. We are waiting for more okra to be grown.
I just signed up for the Blue Ridge Marathon. It is on April 13, 2019 and is billed as America’s Toughest Road Marathon. If you’re looking for a challenge, check out the @brm26pt2 and use the coupon code: AMBASSADORANTHONY20 for 20% off of your registration for any of the distances.
Went to the doctor and got 2 night splints (in case the other foot starts to hurt) and a pair of off the shelf orthotic inserts for my boots. They scanned my foot for custom orthotic inserts for my boots and running shoes. I should get them in 3 weeks.
Happy Thursday!!!!! Today, I switched up my marathon training to keep it fun an interesting. First, I biked for 30 minutes on my indoor bike. Then I went outside and did a workout that I have not done for a while....fartleks. I sprinted from one end of the block to the other end of the block, then walked across the crosswalk of the street, then repeat. I did this fartlek workout for about two miles. I'm keeping my legs ready for the Clarendon Day 10k in Arlington, VA on Saturday. Anyone else running that race on Saturday?
