Happy Thursday!!! Earlier this morning, I went out for a 5 mile run. It was very warm and humid. I got to see more of the neighborhoods around Alafaya Woods Blvd. I kept my paces slower than normal to reduce wear and tear on my legs. Keep rocking your training runs and workouts! We got this!!
Clear and cool air was left in the wake of last night’s storms giving me another delightful morning for my run. I didn’t head out until 8 AM and even then, it was only 66°. I’ll take it! #RunnerGirl#PerfectRunningWeather#summer
Happy Tuesday!!! Today I ran in the morning and in the evening! In the morning I ran 3.1 miles. Highlight of the morning was running past Oviedo's City Hall. Right after my morning run, I did some strength training. In the evening, I ran 3.65 with my coach/girlfriend Teri. We were working on pacing so we can run the MCM together. Both runs were good. I feel better running in the heat and humidity.
I’ll tell you what...yesterday’s half HIIT workout, because my mind gave up and my body was right behind, kicked my butt! Today’s 21 minute elliptical and 9 min walk was just what I needed with some stretches thrown in at the end.
Not every day is a great running day. I got about 10 steps into my run and realized something was really wrong with my lower back. I stopped running and came back into the gym to stretch it out and work out the pain. I’ve been ignoring it for 4 days and it finally caught up with me. Make sure to listen to the signals from your body so you don’t injure yourself.
Happy Monday!!! I continued my marathon training in Oviedo, FL with a 3.44 Mile run this morning. Yes, it was hot and humid. I ran a new route today by going down Alafaya Woods Blvd. It was nice to explore this part of Oviedo. I ended my run at Publix since I had things I needed to buy. Have a good week! Keep rocking your training runs and workouts!
New shoes!! For those who know me, know I ❤️❤️ @brooksrunning but lately I’ve been wanting to try something new. I’ve heard a lot of good things about @nbrunning so I went for it. It took a couple runs to get used to them, but now I love them! They were great on my 7.5 miler this morning 😁 But don’t worry I’m never giving up my Brooks!! #womensrunning#brooksrunning#newbalancerunning#runva
Happy Sunday Runday! 🌿🏅☀️ My family and I signed up for this 10k a while ago, not realizing it was a trail run 😹 No PR for me today, but honestly that wasn’t the plan! I went out with no expectations, and no pressure. Just for the fun of it 🌻
Over the past few weeks I shut down a bit. I’ve been really frustrated with how I’ve been running, but mostly worn out from being a newbie in clinic. I’ve been running almost everyday, but have tried to change my mindset with it. Putting entirely less pressure on myself - I do that enough at work 🙅🏼♀️ This running thing should be fun! And I think it’s worth continually reminding ourselves to enjoy the journey and practice being our own cheerleader 📣👱🏼♀️🎉 All in all, so happy to participate in another race today! Came home with 1st in age group and 2nd female overall (it was a small race lol) with 55 min. And I made a friend! I ran with the 1st place girl for the first half until the hills overtook me 🏔 And clearly I need to find shirts that show less of my sweat 💦
Happy Saturday! I continued my marathon training in Oviedo, FL with a 9 mile run. I ran the first 3 miles hard at a faster pace. I wanted to get used to pushing on tired legs (since I ran 15 miles yesterday) It was super hot and humid at the start and just got hotter throughout the run. I walked all of mile 4 to get my body to recover from the previous 3 miles. My coach/girlfriend Teri joined me in running at mile 5 and we ran from miles 5 through 7. We walked miles 8 and 9 because it was too hot. Luckily, we got to a 7 Eleven towards the end of the run and got ourselves some slurpees to cool off. Another day of heat training completed! Stay safe in the heat, keep hydrated, and keep rocking your training runs and workouts! Have an awesome weekend!!!
At least when you feel crappy about running, you can feel good about your cute running gear🧜🏼♀️ Another 5 miles in the books for this beautiful day, now off to celebrate my best friend as she gets married to her other half today👰🏼🤵🏻
Happy Friday!! Today I went out for my long run. I had no set distance planned. The only thing I did plan is to keep my paces slower than my marathon goal pace. I ran farther on the Cross Seminole Trail. I got lost at the Oviedo Aquatic and Gymnasium Center because there was no signs for where the continuation of the Cross Seminole Trail is. I doubled back and ran on the Oviedo Mall Blvd around the Oviedo Mall. I decided to go inside the mall to do some mall walking. After finishing my walk inside the mall, I continued my run. Around mile 13, my coach/girlfriend Teri checked up on me to see if I was ok. I responded "somewhat". She then told me to switch to all walking since I was feeling fatigue from heat. It was the best advice and I just walked after 13.6 miles. I stayed safe and completed 15 miles. I feel fine and my legs are not sore. Everyone enjoy your weekend!!! Keep rocking your training runs and workouts!!!
