Finished a living room makeover yesterday for a very good friend of mine from Albuquerque (my hometown.) @emgore84 lives in the most adorable house (in old town Colorado Springs) with original wood trim and fireplace surround. The wood work is one of the main reasons they bought the house so they wanted to give their living room a refresh while keeping the original character of the house. She already owned these beautiful @potterybarn sofas and chair, and all of her wall art are original pieces collected throughout the years. (Art shows are a family business, as her sister and mom own @cheesmanartfest and @riograndeartsandcrafts - which are amazing art festivals if you’ve never checked them out!) For this refresh, we updated the area rug, throw pillows, accessories/decor, accent cabinet, coffee and side tables, lamps, etc. The windows will also be getting custom white Roman shades installed next week, and in January, the white custom radiator covers will be installed. (Not pictured is the Christmas tree that we temporarily moved in order to do the install and make sure she liked it for the other 11 months out of the year 😂 The tree is back in the front window now and the furniture still fits!) We added a large @worldmarket basket to store all of her son’s toys too.
How is it two weeks until Christmas?! I still have some shopping to do- although I’m getting more into minimalism and hate the idea of buying something just to buy it. My one year old will only be getting a few gifts- especially since she’s still at the stage of enjoying the box more then what’s inside! Anyone else on the minimalist bandwagon?? Keeping it simple in the kitchen as well!
Across from the linen cabinet sits an ample supply of storage! Keep in mind this is the basement hallway being utilized to create additional space in a Commercial Drive Character home. Swipe 👉🏼 to see the before photo!
Just over a foot deep, this basement hallway unit is going to house linens n’ things. Swipe 👉🏼to see the acrylic shelf dividers we incorporated to keep all the towels upright. Swipe to the end to see the before photo!!
This is how we created the Modern Craftsman style cornice we posted yesterday. Two simple moulding profiles milled from poplar will help you achieve this intricate and built-up look. Do you have a copy of our new Modern Craftsman Moulding Catalog & Pattern Book? If you’re looking for a modern look with a classical edge, this is what you want to bring to your next client meeting. A marvellous master ensuite we created at one of our projects earlier this year. When space is a premium, it pays to take time and make sure everything has its place. There's nothing worse than rushing the layout of small rooms! Experience has taught us that small rooms need more planning. When you choose BCL, we're always on hand to offer help with those important decisions!
