I’m loving the gym again lately. And these @beatsstudio3wireless noise cancelling headphones are a game changer 🎧 .
Due to all my weird and annoying sound / sensory issues, I cannot cope with gym music invading my brain. I just can’t. It’s too much. Even worse is noise competing with other noise. Eek. My worst nightmare!
So these babies allow me to listen to either my own tunes or some educational podcasts (I’m such a nerd) and I can work with my brain at peace, minus the doof-doof and stuff.
I’ve been thinking lately: the longer I’m sober (four and a bit years) the more I wonder if I took solace in alcohol to drown out “things” and noise - because I had zero clue or information about sensory processing and how it impacts an already overactive brain.... .
Curious: does anyone else reckon they drank to “quieten” things or to just try switch off and wind down from hyperdrive??
This wasn’t an excuse for my behaviour, BTW, but I’ve got no doubt it was a contributing reason.
For me it’s light, sound, and smells. I’m hyper, hyper alert and sensitive to them all. And it is NOT fun. These days I do what I can to work around it. But it’s really quite exhausting, and I’m just so glad I now understand all this stuff so I can manage it, and seek quiet time when it all closes in on me. .
I ponder this stuff a lot. If you also struggle with feeling anxious and overwhelmed at times - do some googling around HSP (highly sensitive person) and sensory issues. You might be one of us. And you might feel less cray if you know it’s not “you” ☺️🌿✌🏽

Day 4 of my #rawtill4 30 day challenge! So far it has not been a challenge at all, just unbelievably satisfying☺️. The last two nights I have slept better than I have in a long time, was not waking up once. This morning I woke up after only 7 hours of sleep feeling very ready to get out of bed. I made my lemon water, and my breakfast nr 1 which was a green smoothie (spinach, kale, strawberries, celery, coconut water, lemon, spirulina, turmeric, apple). 🥬
Breakfast nr 2 was a nice cream bowl made of 5 bananas, 1 cup of raspberries, açaí powder🍌
So far I'm feeling very good on this diet, except bloating. I have heard week nr 2 is suppose to be the worst, and that is usually when people quit. But I won't! I said I'm gonna do this now, so I will! No matter if I lay in bed crying (the famous severe detox mood swings😅). I WILL do it. #rawvegan#rawtill4
Smoothie bowl!🍌 now it’s getting closer to summer I’m finding myself not really wanting hot food for breakfast as much. This was a really easy breakfast to make and vegan too! For the toppings I used banana, mango, chia seeds, cacao nibs, coconut and my homemade peanut butter granola. Below is everything I included in the smoothie bowl:
Handful of washed kale
Handful of washed spinach
Some frozen raspberries and blueberries
1/4 cup of oats
Splash of almond milk
Tablespoon of soy yogurt
Half a banana
Mórning! Zo hé heb ik even geen zin om te werken vandaag... bluh! Normaal vind ik mijn werk fantastisch en heb ik echt geen moeite om uit bed te komen, maar na dit bijzonder heerlijke weekend ben ik niet echt gemotiveerd 😅. Jij daar ook last van🤭?
