It's the best day of the week because it's TACO 🌮TUESDAY!
Today I decided to keep them light and I made fish tacos using Tilapia. I kept the seasoning super simple and if you follow my Instagram stories, you saw the seasoning I got. I bought a pre-mixed Tequila Lime Blend seasoning from Whole Foods. They come in these little plastic containers and it was only $2.49 (swipe to see this pic). If only y'all could smell this stuff, i'm about to start adding it to EVERYTHING I cook haha. Look out for my next post for my Pickled Onions recipe! **To make the tilapia, I sliced my fillets in half to separate the thick half from the thinner one so I can cook them for the proper amount of time. I sprinkled each side with a little bit of flour and a decent amount of the seasoning. On a large skillet, I heat up olive oil on medium heat and cooked the thinner halves for about 2 minutes on each side and the thicker ones for about 3 minutes. Transfer them to a plate and "shred" them with two forks.
A few things that I like to top my fish 🌮 with are the Cabbage Slaw, Pickled Onions, Cotija or Queso Fresco Cheese, sour cream, and fresh cilantro. Keep reading for some of the recipes!
Here is my recipe for my Cabbage Slaw with Lemon Vinaigrette:
- 1/2 purple cabbage, shredded
- 2 large carrots, julienned
- 1 jalapeno, diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, halved
- 1 tbs dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup unfiltered apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp honey
- 1/4 tsp dry ginger
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- salt/pepper to taste
1. Combine all of the ingredients for the cabbage slaw in a large bowl and mix until fully incorporated.
2. In a blender (I use my Ninja single serve smoothie cups with the blender attachment) combine all of the vinaigrette ingredients and blend until creamy.
3. Toss the vinaigrette with the slaw and top over your tacos!

DIY #Ginger & #Garlic#Soup#Recipe
You will need:
4 green #onions, sliced
50 grams of grated ginger
2 garlic cloves, minced
7 cups of veggie stock
Hot #chili, medium-sized, diced
Preparation: In a saucepan, add the onions, garlic,mushrooms, and ginger and sauté them on low heat for several minutes. Then, add the stock and boil the mixture. Leave the content to simmer until all of the ingredients soften. Next, put the chili and simmer for 5 more minutes. Remove from the heat and serve with homemade crusty bread and a glass of fresh lemon water.Enjoy!

Sleep, the unsung hero of progress. It is one of the most important things the body needs not only for recovery, but metabolic regulation and hypertrophy. .
If there is a loss of quality sleep whether it’s acute or chronic it triggers multiple HPA axis dysfunctions. Just 2 back to back nights of less sleep than your body needs/requires can cause big changes in your circadian production of cortisol. .
Just because you are in bed for 8 hours does not mean it was quality especially if you wake up 2-3 times during the night. One thing I'm adimit with clients is developing a good pre bed routine starting once the sun goes down. Setting yourself up for quality sleep is the first step, not taking a Supplement stack. .
Don't just jump straight into taking or prescribing others "sleep supplements" as many do without first making lifestyle changes. .
Everyone want to take a pill, but tell them to wear blue light blocker glasses, stop using laptops 2 hours before bed, ....they fight tooth and nail. You want to get to the root cause and not just put a bandaid on the issue. You can take all the 5-HTP, phenibut, valarian root, ... you want but you aren't correcting the root cause. Don't just treat the symptom. .
I've seen drastic improvements with myself and clients by just developing a sustainable pre bed routine. Treat it like you do your daily routine. Everyone is willing to eat every 3 hours, train, take there supplements but when you say do XYZ before bed they sporadically do it, WTF! People just don't make sense sometimes. .

What are your biggest fitness challenges?
Look ma I made it!!!!!!!!! First time going hiking and it was a success. I have asthma and I’ve always been really nervous about climbing a mountain because I would get scared something would happen. It was a beautiful day and we took a few short breaks but I made it and can’t wait to accomplish more in my lifetime! Honestly one of the best feelings and that view at the top is pretty nice to⛰ Here’s to trying new things!

Not all milk substitutions are made equal!
For this example I've chosen coconut milk which is what I use in place of dairy in my smoothie. ...
One brand is an almond & coconut blend where the other 2 is plain coconut milk. I use and love Coco Quench for a couple of reasons
1.I know and understand all the ingredients listed plus it has minimal ingredients used
2. It has a higher percentage of coconut & it has a nice texture to it.
Now for transparency I've not tried the other 2 so I can't judge on taste/consistency but I've not used them due to the ingredients listed.
Reading the ingredients list gives us the full information before we decide if it's what we want to consume and if what we are drinking is just filtered water with some added extras. ...
