Soup dumplings from Nan Xiang in Flushing, Queens. This restaurant has a reputation for having the best soup dumplings in NYC. I was also warned by other food bloggers that it’s also a tourist trap and is only well known because it’s listed in guides for those visiting New York. Half of the soup dumplings exploded on the bottom as I picked them up, I saw other tables around me facing the same problem so some texture problems. These tasted pretty good but a little overrated, I’d give it an 8/10. The real star of the show were the juicy fried pork buns and the scallion pancakes with sliced beef (not shown), those were insanely good. I don’t like how some dishes were precooked in bulk and set aside buffet style so that servers could dispense the food quickly. It’s a big place and they probably get a ton of customers so this is probably why. A good place to dine in at but certainly not the best.
